I actually wonder if people were surprised!  I’ve never had any of my fic on FF.net, partly because one of the few things I do know about FF.net is that it doesn’t accept NC-17 fic, and that’s… pretty much all I write.  :)  It seemed silly to get an account there and try to navigate the system (I already find FF.net hard to get around in) just for one out of every 30 fics I write; I figured I would never remember to do that. But anyway— were people surprised?  I’ve heard dissatisfied rumblings, but mostly what I’ve heard is “It’s against the TOS, so they were bound to do it eventually.” This describes pretty much why I never bothered getting an FF.net account. I remember the banning of NC-17 stories, I never found the site easy to navigate and I prefer a place where I can post ALL of my stories as opposed to just some of them. :P So some people were suprised by the purge, I guess. I was suprised that so many people still use the site for smut. *shrug*
