[FF.NET IS DELETING SMUT FICS? (FANFIC FLAMINGO) REMEMBER THE BANNING OF NC-17 FICS. FEEL OLD.]
If they’d just waited another three months, they could have done the deletions on the ten year anniversary!
Well, no one can say there was no warning.
I actually wonder if people were surprised! I’ve never had any of my fic on FF.net, partly because one of the few things I do know about FF.net is that it doesn’t accept NC-17 fic, and that’s… pretty much all I write. :) It seemed silly to get an account there and try to navigate the system (I already find FF.net hard to get around in) just for one out of every 30 fics I write; I figured I would never remember to do that.
But anyway— were people surprised? I’ve heard dissatisfied rumblings, but mostly what I’ve heard is “It’s against the TOS, so they were bound to do it eventually.”
This describes pretty much why I never bothered getting an FF.net account. I remember the banning of NC-17 stories, I never found the site easy to navigate and I prefer a place where I can post ALL of my stories as opposed to just some of them. :P
So some people were suprised by the purge, I guess. I was suprised that so many people still use the site for smut. *shrug*
I read a sad case today of a young writer who had had her story rewritten into illiteracy by a so-called publisher, who then abused her in email when she wrote to complain. She wsn’t getting paid for her story — instead she was actually buying copies of the anthology to show people that she had…
2 Put one word after another. Find the right word, put it down.
3 Finish what you’re writing. Whatever you have to do to finish it, finish it.
4 Put it aside. Read it pretending you’ve never read it before. Show it to friends whose opinion you respect and who like…

I haven’t read any Trigun fic in a long while and now this got posted at the Fics to go challenge at Ao3 and I really liked it.
People are asking if that last post was a joke.
I don’t think so.
But even if it was, it wasn’t. It’s nothing I haven’t seen before, many times, either as hate mail that came in on the FAQ line over at neilgaiman.com, or in other corners of the web — the saddest of which was a letter from a…
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Release Date Announced
Today, Namco Bandai has announced a North American release date for Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. The game is currently scheduled to launch on the PlayStation 3 this Winter.
Ni No Kuni, for those of you who are unaware, is an upcoming RPG currently in development by Level-5 and Studio Ghibli. The game’s music will be done by Joe Hisaishi, who has been the composer of the scores for 100 films, including many of Studio Ghibli’s productions.
“The development team at LEVEL-5 has worked very hard to ensure that Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a RPG that fans of video games and traditional animation will remember for years to come. It has been a great honor to collaborate with Studio Ghibli and Joe Hisaishi, and to incorporate all of their experience into a fantastic game. Our top priority for the Western release of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is to localize the game with the same level of quality and attention to detail that fans of LEVEL-5 and Studio Ghibli have come to expect.” —Akihiro Hino, President and CEO of Level-5
Now that Ni No Kuni is expected to launch here this winter, will you be grabbing this title?
If I were to define Korean-American artist Amy Sol’s paintings with just one word, it would be enchanting. I find her use of subtle colors, flowing lines, and earthy motifs magical. I can stare at her works for hours.
Another reason why I love her art so much is because the young girls she paints remind me of mori girls. They look ethereal, innocent and one with nature.
